In a bid to diffuse the nearly two-month long crisis, Chief Minister Biren Singh today, for the first time met a joint delegation of MUTA and MUSU at his official residence in Imphal and took stock of the situation and heard the grievances of the agitating groups.

Apart from the Chief Minister, from the Government side, the meeting was attended by Education Minister, Thocksom Radheshyam and Speaker Yumnam Khemchand Singh among others.

No breakthrough was achieved at the meeting although it helped the State Government leaders to understand the situation and its dimensions.

Later, talking exclusively to Northeast Live MUSU president said that they apprised Chief Minister Biren Singh of their position, but made it clear that their agitation will continue until the VC is removed.
