Girl missing from Bihar found in Assam’s Kaziranga, one arrested

A 25-year-old woman from Assam’s Kaziranga has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a girl from Bihar’s Ahiyapur who had been missing for a few days.

The woman identified as Labonya Boruah has been arrested by a team of Ahiyapur police after the missing girl was found at her residence today.

According to Bihar police, the police team arrived in Kaziranga in search of the minor girl on the basis of an FIR filed by the parents of the missing girl stating that Labonya Boruah had kidnapped their daughter.

In response to the complaint, the police team, with the help of Kohora police in Kaziranga raided Labonya Boruah’s home and arrested her for allegedly kidnapping the girl.

Labonya denied kidnapping her and said that the girl had come to her home willingly a few days ago and had been living with her since they are like sisters.

She said that they had first met on the social media site Facebook and since then they know each other for a few months now.

When asked if she was kidnapped by Labonya or if she came to her place voluntarily, the girl said that she came willingly to study here after she was beaten up by her father.
