Residents of Sikkim’s capital City Gangtok are facing acute shortage of water due to pipeline damage. Sources informed that the 16.00 km stretch of pipeline developed a sudden burst at the 9th mile on Thursday thereby washing away all the raw water main pipelines. Field staff stationed at 4th mile were immediately mobilized to cut off the mains at the intake at Rateychu river.
