Nagaland: Funeral of 15 civilians killed in Mon to be held today

The funeral services for those killed in the Mon firing incident will be held today in Nagaland’s Mon district. According to sources, the funeral will be held at 10 am.

People would gather at the local ground in Mon from where the funeral procession would begin and then the bodies would be taken to the victims’ native Oting village where the burial will take place.
State Chief Minister Niephiu Rio and other top leaders of the state will attend the funeral of the firing victims.
CM Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton who is also the minister in charge Home department, former Chief Minister and Naga People’s Front (NPF) leader Taditui Rangkau Zeliang and other senior government leaders are slated to arrive in Mon today morning ahead of the funeral to take stock of the situation and meet with community leaders.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Patton has already reached Mon early morning today while accompanied by Nagaland DGP and Home Commissioner.
