The complete NRC list that features the individual status of the 3.30 crore people who were part of the NRC exercise in Assam was published online on Saturday.

This list includes both the names of those who have been accepted as citizens besides those whose names have been rejected.

To check the names in the final NRC through online mode, one can log on to http://www.nrcassam.nic.in or http://www.assam.mygov.in.

One has to key in the ARN or application receipt number number to view his or her citizenship status or that of the family members.

The final list, that was released on August 31, had excluded over 19 lakh people. Earlier, when the final draft was released, more than 40 lakh people were excluded from the list. So, the number came down to just over 19 lakh in the list released last month.

These 19 lakh will have to prove their citizenship in the foreigners’ tribunals over the next few months.
