French Ambassador Thierry Mathou Arrives in Gangtok

French Ambassador to India Thierry Mathou arrived in Gangtok this morning as part of his official tour, titled Mission to North Bengal and Sikkim. The ambassador traveled from Darjeeling to Sikkim, where he was warmly welcomed by local officials and residents.
Joining him on this visit were his spouse, Cécile Mathou, and several distinguished officials from the French consulate, including Didier Talpain, the Consul General of France in Kolkata; Samuel Bouchard, the Cooperation Attaché; and Anjita Roychaudhary, Press and Diplomatic Liaison Officer to Sikkim.
The ambassador’s four-day itinerary, spanning November 10 to November 13, will feature a series of official meetings and engagements aimed at enhancing Franco-Indian relations and cooperation with Sikkim in areas such as culture, education, and sustainable development.
