Former India cricket skipper Sourav Ganguly is all set to be the next BCCI President, after former India and Karnataka cricketer Brijesh Patel was projected as the only presidential candidate but following a dramatic turn of events, Ganguly emerged as the frontrunner.

The BCCI elections were scheduled to be held on October 23 but with Sourav Ganguly being the only candidate to file the nomination for the top post, he is set to be elected unopposed.

Sourav Ganguly called it a “great feeling” to head the country’s cricket board, adding that it is an opportunity for him to do something at a time when BCCI’s image is hampered.
