Five of a family charred to death, 50 houses gutted in a Diwali fire in Dimapur

Five members of a family, including three children, were charred to death when a fire broke out at Naharbari ward No 10 in Dimapur, Nagaland.
The deceased are said to hailed from Katihar, Bihar.

Bursting of firecrackers during Diwali celebrations is suspected to have triggered the blaze, the Fire & Emergency Services officials said.
Nearly 50 houses were reduced to ashes. It took at least two hours for six fire tenders to put out the flames.
The Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur also inspected the site and distributed emergency relief from Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) and further assured to provide relief funds from the state government.
