A snubbing unit along with experts from Alert is expected to reach Baghjan for the final well-killing operation from Canada by 18th October. The killing operation is expected to take around two weeks if everything goes as per plans.
Necessary arrangements are being made at Baghjan for the installation of the snubbing unit once it reaches the well site.
As per information, the gas diversion operation is going on as per plane with all safety precautions and all vital parameters are in control.
Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended at the operation site after the news of CGM Drilling, Kalyan Gogoi’s death arrived today. He suffered from Covid-related complications and was admitted in Apollo, Delhi. Late Gogoi was actively involved with the Baghjan operation and had got infected with the COVID-19 virus while at work in Baghjan.
His body arrived at Duliajan yesterday and was later taken for last rites to his ancestral home in Lakhimpur. He is survived by a son, a daughter, and a wife.
