Assam filmmaker Rima Das adds another feather to her cap. Das has joined Toronto International Film Festival’s ‘Share Her Journey’ as its official ambassador.

The ‘Share Her Journey’ campaign by TIFF was launched in the year 2017 with a view to increase and encourage participation, skills and prospects for women behind and in front of the camera.

Artistic director and co-head of TIFF Cameron Bailey said that the TIFF is thrilled to welcome Das on board as an Ambassador for their ‘Share Her Journey’ campaign and that Rima’s remarkable body of work and passion for championing equality makes her an excellent choice to help the campaign support women in film and move the dial towards gender equality throughout the industry.

The ‘Village Rockstars’ Director said that she would like to see more women in the industry and would like to bring together voices of people of all genders and work together to work for the cause of equality in the society.

The other Indian ambassadors of the campaign include Mira Nair, Deepa Mehta and Priyanka Chopra.
