Father arrested in connection with murder of 1-year-old son in Assam’s Gohpur

Assam Police today arrested a father accused of killing his one-year-old son in Assam’s Gohpur.
The accused father has been identified as Sachin Bordoloi and the deceased has been identified as Paragjyoti Bordoloi.
The arrest was made following the deceased’s mother’s statement in which she claimed that her husband killed their child.
It is to remind that Sachin along with Paragjyoti went to the market for shopping on Wednesday (March 8) evening for his birthday but the duo did not return home till late at night.
Later on Thursday (March 9), the dead body of the child was found lying in the midst of a paddy field on his birthday.A bicycle along with a shopping bag was also found near the child’s dead body.
As per the police after committing the crime, Sachin Bordoloi fled away from the spot and went to Cementchapri by train.
Acting on the complaint, the police apprehended Sachin today and during interogation, he admitted committing the crime due to some internal conflicts in the family, a police official said while speaking to media over the matter.
Meanwhile, locals gathered outside the Gohpur Police Station demanding strict action against the accused father.
