Election to sole Rajya Sabha seat from Sikkim on January 19

The polling will take place from 9 am to 4 pm
Election to the sole Rajya Sabha seat from Sikkim will be held on January 19, the Election Commission said today.
The six-year term of Hishey Lachungpa of Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) ends on February 23 next year.
Election to the four Rajya Sabha seat from Delhi will also held on the same day.
Filing of nomination papers will begin on January 2 with the issuance of notification and January 9 will be the last date to file papers.
As per established practice, the polling will take place from 9 am to 4 pm. The counting of votes will take place on the same day from 5 pm.
