The Manipur government will provide appropriate compensation to the deceased NDRF personnel from Manipur, who was found dead at the base camp of Mount Esii near the Dzuko range.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh visited the residence of the deceased NDRF personnel Nongthombam Binoy and met the family members at Luwangsangbam Maning Leikai in Imphal East District.
Expressing his grief to the bereaved family, Singh tweeted, “My heartfelt condolences to the family of Assistant Sub-Inspector N.Binoy Meetei of @NDRFHQ, who died inside one of the base camps set up on the way to Dzuko to douse the wildfire. His works and sacrifice for the State will ever remain as an inspiration to his fellow citizens.”
The NDRF assistant sub-inspector was deployed in fire fighting operations that engulfed the Dzuko range. He was found dead on Monday at the base camp of Mount Esii in Singsong village under Mao police station.
It is being suspected that the deceased had suffered a heart attack due to cold weather conditions in the area. The deceased, a resident of Imphal East has left behind his wife and two daughters.
