Dima Hasao TMC expresses concern over govt land encroachment

DHTMC further informed that there is a shortage of government land for establishing departmental offices at Haflong.

The Dima Hasao unit of Trinamool Congress in Assam has expressed serious concerns over rampant encroachment of government land in and around the Haflong area by a section of people for reasons best known to them.

A team of DHTMC leaders alleged that a plot of land opposite the Atal Behari Bhawan belonging to Haflong Municipal Board which has been leased out to the Fishery department reportedly encroached.

On top of the encroachment concerns, DHTMC further informed that there is a shortage of government land for establishing departmental offices at Haflong.

TMC district convenor Aching Jemespeaking to media informed many government properties were earlier encroached earlier, and if necessary actions are not taken by the Authorities and the district administration, then DHTMC will intensify their protest against the illegal encroachment.
