These officers, had appeared for the combined competitive examination, 2013, and were appointed in 2015. However, they were arrested on March 28 this year after discrepancies were found in their answer scripts, which were seized from the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) office and sent for forensic test.

At least four answer scripts were tampered with in Assam Public Service Commission examinations. It may be mentioned, Kaushik Kalita who was serving as a Deputy Superintendent of Police had secured jobs for twenty other in exchange of a hefty sum.
