Decomposed Body Of Silchar Student Who Had Goes Missing on New Year’s Eve, Recovered

In a shocking incident, the decomposed body of an 18-year-old youth was recovered under mysterious circumstances from near the Barak river in Katigorah, Silchar on Tuesday.

The youth has been identified as Purna Chandra Barman, a student of Gurucharan College. Hailing from Ujangram, Purna lived in a rented house in Silchar with his sister. According to family members, he left the house alone around 11 PM on December 31 and had been missing since. When he failed to return, his family lodged a missing complaint with the police on January 1.

Despite a police investigation, there was no trace of him until his body was found yesterday.
Upon recovering the body, police also found a mobile phone and headphones near the site, though the phone’s SIM card was missing. Suspicion has arisen that Purna may have been murdered, and his body dumped on the riverbank. 

The incident has sent shockwaves through the area, and the police have launched an investigation to uncover the truth behind the tragic death.
