The crackdown on terror modules operating in the state is underway on a war footing.
Well, in a big breakthrough, the Assam police arrested the Imam of Tilapara Masjid in Goalpara identified as Jalaluddin for having links with the Al-qaeda.
This has been informed by Assam Police officials. And not just this, the police had also arrested another jihadi yesterday who was allegedly taking the guise of an imam at the Tinikunia Masjid.
The arrested individual was identified as Abdus Sobhan.
Several incriminating documents were seized from the duo’s possession.
Additionally, the police also recovered a Bangladesh national flag from the duo.
It is learnt that Jalaluddin had hosted a religious meeting back in 2019 which was participated by several jihadis.
