A day after resigning from the home minister position in the Mizoram government, senior Congress leader R Lalzirliana appears to have adopted a defiant posture daring the state Congress to pick any disciplinary action against him.
Sources to Northeast Live say, that he is not meeting Chief Minister Lalthanhawla, who was not in his office yesterday when Lalzirliana had resigned.
The veteran Congress leader however expressed confidence that his resignation will be accepted by the party.
Sources also say that the veteran congress leader was upset with the way the state congress has been treating him and he has made it clear that he is not going back to join the cabinet under Chief Minsiter Lalthanhawla.
Lalzirliana has further claimed that state congress and the congress top brass including Rahul Gandhi has not upgraded his constituency into a district, a demand which he has been fighting for since 2008.
Earlier, Lalzirliana resigned from the office of Home Minister yesterday.
