The Congress has demanded re-polling in all 9 Assembly constituencies in the two hill districts of Churachandpur and Kangpokpi.

Veteran Congress leader and party observer for Manipur, Jairam Ramesh, and MPCC vice president K Devabrata, alleged that the polls in the two hill districts were rigged and that democracy was murdered.

It may be mentioned that a big protest was held in Churachandpur yesterday demanding re-polling in at least 23 polling booths in the Henglep assembly constituency.

Protesters from the NPP, Congress, Shiv Sena, and an independent candidate attempted to storm the Churachandpur Deputy Commissioner’s office.
