Addressing a plenary session on the 400th Birth anniversary of legendary Ahom General and national icon Lachit Barphukan, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the government has dedicated the Police Academy in Dergaon in the name of Bir Lachit Barphukan. Besides, a book titled ‘Assam Hero who Defeated the Mughals’ have also been published including contents of eminent historians. Sarma said that the 400th Birth Anniversary celebrations have reunited the people of Assam as well as the entire nation.
