The Centre (Home Ministry) is likely to appoint an interlocutor to start the talks concerning the TIPRA Motha’s demand seeking ‘constitutional solution by March 27, informed royal scion and TIPRA Motha Chief Pradyot Debbarma this morning.

Taking to Twitter, Pradyot Debbarma informed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a telephonic conversation with him early this morning wherein he assured to announce an interlocutor for the talks on March 27.

Moreover, as per sources, the MHA will likely be appointing AK Mishra as the interlocutor.

Notably, the big development comes just two weeks after Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a key meeting with Pradyot Debbarma in Agartala.

National BJP President JP Nadda, NEDA convenor and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha were also present in the meeting.

After the meeting, Pradyot Debbarma infomred that an accord will be signed between the Union government and the Tipra Motha once an acceptable solution is found.
