Bulldozer justice is back in Assam. After Barpeta and Morigaon, another madrassa has been bulldozed over charges of being a hub of Jihadi activities.
Authorities conducted a demolition drive at the madrassa titled Markazul Ma Arif Kuwariyana in Kabaitari of Bongaigaon district.
Eight excavators got down to the task and took down the madrassa building. Earlier yesterday, the Bongaigaon DC had also issued a notice stating that the madrassa has violated several government norms.
Following this, the madrassa building had been sealed and today the building was demolished.
The Assam Police last night raided the madrassa and sealed the place while ordering the resident students to vacate the school premises.
During the raid, police seized several inflammatory and communal literature and other documents from the madrassa premises and a nearby shop.
The raid was conducted in the presence of Hafizur Rahman, who was arrested from the madrassa on August 26.
It is alleged that Rahman was running Jihadi activities from the madrassa under the garb of running a school.
