Boost for Meghalaya tourism, CM Sangma unveils ‘Meghalaya Trails’ App, ‘Echoes Of The Hills’ book

The initiative is part of Government’s intervention to promote sustainable adventure and eco-tourism while safeguarding indigenous culture, flora, and fauna.

Aimed at boosting the tourism sector of Meghalaya, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday unveiled the ‘Meghalaya Trails’ App and launched the coffee table book titled ‘Echoes of the Hills: Trekking Meghalaya’ in the presence of Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh.

Taking to X, the CM wrote, “ Launched the “Meghalaya Trails” app and the “Echoes of the Hills” book this evening in presence of Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh.

The initiative is part of Government’s intervention to promote sustainable adventure and eco-tourism while safeguarding indigenous culture, flora, and fauna.

As part of this venture, @meghtourism  has undertaken a significant initiative by providing extensive training to 113 volunteers hailing from indigenous communities across various regions of the state which was hosted in Darjeeling.

Certificates were awarded to the trainees as a way to appreciate their efforts in upscaling the rural and ecotourism in the state.”

The Chief Minister Conrad Sangma also laid foundation stones of as many as three projects on Tuesday to ensure further enhance the beauty of Shillong and ease traffic congestion in the city that is a hot tourist destination.
