Ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, a high-intensity blast took place at Nagamapal RIMS road in Imphal West in the wee hours of Thursday.
The blast, reportedly occurred at around 4:57 am. The cause of the explosion has not been ascertained yet. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
Earlier, on January 10, another blast took place at Singjamei Chingamathak in Imphal West. The incident took place at the gates of the residence of one Baruni Singh opposite to the Iboyaima Hospital.
The bomb blast touted to be of low intensity resulted in the damage of a few nearby parked vehicles. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
Meanwhile, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh reacting to the incident has said that the State government would not succumb to such dastardly acts to derail peace and development.
