A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Imphal and Silchar, BJP National President Amit Shah will be in Agartala on Saturday.
Shah will be accompanied by all 3 National General Secretaries of BJP – Ram Madhav, Ajay Jamwal & Sunil Deodhar. During the visit, Shah will address a conference of ‘Pristha Pramukhs’, considered to be the BJP’s organizational backbone.
There would be no public rally as it would be purely an organisational matter, and only Pristha Pramukhs would participate in the conference apart from state-level leaders of the BJP.
The conference will be held at Astabal Maidan in Agartala, as many as 42,000 Pristha Pramukhs are expected to participate.
After the conference, Shah is scheduled to attend a slew of meetings with party leaders, ministers and MLAs to discuss strategies ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Picking the candidates is expected to be top of the agenda at these meetings.
Meanwhile, preparations are on in full swing ahead of Shah’s scheduled visit. Chief Minister Biplab Deb held a high-level meeting to review preparations.
