BJP leader found dead in Assam, homicide suspected

A former Panchayat member and a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karimganj, Assam, named Abdul Sattar, who had been missing for three days, was found dead. He was found in Karimganj district on Friday, according to the police.

Abdul Sattar, a 47-year-old local leader of the BJP in Karimganj, had been missing since the night of October 23.

Reportedly, in the evening, around 9 p.m., he received several calls and informed his family that he needed to attend an important meeting.

The police in Karimganj have confirmed that they have registered a murder case after finding Abdul Sattar’s body. They mentioned that there were visible signs of injuries on various parts of his body, indicating that he had been subjected to torture.

Abdul Sattar’s family has connected a local Congress leader named Surman Ali and his associates to the murder. The police are currently investigating this claim.
