Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today visited the construction site of the proposed international cricket stadium at Narshingarh in West Tripura.
CM Deb was accompanied by local MLA Dr Dilip Das, Tripura Cricket Association president Dr Manik Saha and other office bearers as they inspected the progress of the work. The CM also interacted with the officials of the construction agency, who gave a visual presentation on the progress of the work, which has been undertaken at a cost of Rs 185 crore and is likely to be completed by next year.
Addressing media persons, CM Biplab Kumar Deb informed that the state government is giving importance to sports as they can play a vital role in the war against drugs and towards making Tripura an addiction-free state.

The completion of the stadium, according to the CM, will be a significant boost to sports infrastructure in the state.
Meanwhile, project coordinator Sanjeev Kumar said that although work on the project started in 2017, they were faced with a shortage of labour and construction materials due to the ongoing pandemic, which hampered the progress of construction work. However, he assured that the work would be completed by November this year.
