Bilsando Ch Marak Crowned Champion in Singing Competition on The Theme “For the Youth of Our Generation” of South West Garo Hills

In a region renowned as the “Rock Capital of India,” the singing talent of Meghalaya’s South West Garo Hills took center stage, at a singing competition organised by the district administration in collaboration with the tourism department.

The competition, themed “For the Youth of Our Generation”, brought the spotlight on the hidden musical prodigies of this remote district. The competition, held at the Multi-Facility Centre in Ampati, celebrated the unique blend of youthful energy and cultural pride.

It culminated in a Grand Finale on Thursday, where 21 finalists showcased their exceptional talent. These finalists were selected from rigorous auditions conducted across the district.

Participants included not just local youth but also students who traveled from outside the district, even after completing their school exams, to be part of the event. Their dedication and enthusiasm highlighted the importance of creating platforms for young people to explore their talents and build confidence.

Bilsando Ch Marak was awarded the 1st prize, Crossmeda Arengh claimed the 2nd prize, while Praidison D Marak secured the 3rd position.
