A shocking inter-state flesh trade racket has been busted with Guwahati being the source point of the illegal operation.
The flesh trade and human trafficking racket came to light after the sudden disappearance of two girls in Guwahati last month.
The involvement of pimps and middlemen stretching 3 states of Assam, Bengal and Bihar has come to light in the case of the two missing girls traced at a brothel in Bihar.
So far, as many as 4 persons have been arrested in connection with the case and the hunt to nab another woman is on.
As per inputs, a complaint was lodged at the Bhangagarh Police Station in Guwahati on June 29 by a woman claiming that her 18-year-old daughter who had been requesting her for a new mobile phone had gone missing along with her friend after she refused to buy her the handset.
Following the complaint police launched an investigation to locate the girls.
While the investigation was underway, one person called the brother of the victim demanding Rs 30,000 for her release.
Later, police traced the call to Purnia, Bihar and immediately dispatched a police team of the Bhangagarh Police Station to the location.
Police apprehended Tanveer Alom, who gave the extortion call and recovered both the victim girls.
During the investigation, it came to light that the two victim girls planned to go to Delhi. They met Sikandar Ali at the Paltanbazar Railway Station in Guwahati who convinced them that he would help them to go to Delhi, and handed over them to Idrish Ali, a resident of Basistha.
Following this, Idris Ali and his wife ( Babli) in association with a woman identified as Khairun Nessa, of Panjipara, West Bengal took them to Siliguri by bus and sold them to a person identified as Akbar of Panjipara, Bihar for a sum of Rs. 1,00,000.
Akbar then handed over the girls to Tanvir Alom who forced them to work in a brothel at Rawta, Bihar.
Having found sufficient evidence against the accused persons who were involved in the crime.
Police arrested Idrish Ali from Pilinkata, Basistha and Sikandar Ali from Paltanbazar, Railway Station.
During the investigation, it also came to light that Khairun Nesa, of West Bengal was staying at the house of Idrish Ali and was planning to take another girl to the brothel in Bihar.
Based on the information she was also arrested and all the four accused persons have been produced before the Judicial Magistrate and brought on police remand.
