The “Beat cancer: run and ride 2018” was organised today at Naga Hospital in Kohima under the theme “Together we can beat cancer”. In one of the major health awareness initiatives in the north eastern region- Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre in support of Tata Trusts undertook the initiative.
A team of 34 people including 18 bikers from around the north eastern states have arrived in kohima today to spread cancer awareness. The Run and Ride campaign was organised by Tata Trusts, Cachar Cancer Hospital and Silchar Thumpers Enfield club in collaboration with the voice of tobacco victims, Tata motors and National Cancer Grid.
A series of events were carried out in the form of street plays, educational talks as well as stories of cancer patients. The 5 km run organised for cancer awareness comprised of students, teachers, bikers and volunteers.
