The meeting between the agitating students of the Assam University, the varsity authorities and the district administration ended in a stalemate in Silchar on Monday.

This was the second meeting between in two days that failed to end the impasse at the University.

Meanwhile, research scholar Milan Das has submitted an appeal to the Vice Chancellor Dilip Chandra Nath requesting withdrawal of the rustication against him.

The University Authorities are yet to take a decision in regards to the appeal made by Milan Das.

On the other hand, the students of the varsity are continuing with their indefinite hunger strike, which entered 6th day today.
