The football frenzy is high in view of the ongoing Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022. Fans from across the globe have congregated in Qatar to watch their favourite teams compete for the mega title. Assam too has a connection with the sporting extravaganza in Qatar.  Football fans from the state have flocked to Qatar to watch the games.

Pride of Assam Gamocha too featured in the stadium amidst thousands of fans cheering for their favourite teams during the Germany vs Japan match at the Khalifa International Stadium in Ar-Rayyan yesterday. An Assamese youth was enthralled to experience the football World Cup fever in Qatar as he waved the Gamocha with ‘Joy Aai Axom’ inscripted in it.
