Assam’s active covid tally stands at 17,777 with 3,390 fresh cases in 24 hours

Assam is witnessing a further spike in Covid-19 cases. A total of 3,390 fresh cases have been detected in the state in the last 24 hours bringing the tally to 6,44,026.

The new cases were reported from the 34,355 samples tested during the period.
With 919 new cases, Kamrup (M) topped the list, followed by Jorhat (217), Tinsukia (206), and one each in Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Jorhat, and Kamrup Rural.
The single-day positivity rate in Assam stands at 9.87 percent as per the health department.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the virus in Assam now stands at 6,201 after four more patients succumbed to the infection.
On the other hand, a total of 876 patients got discharged yesterday after attaining full recovery bringing the total number of recoveries to 6,18,701. With this, the recovery rate stands at 96.07 percent.
