Assam recorded a fresh COVID-19 positive case on Monday, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state to 30. The latest case has been reported from the Dhubri district.
Addressing a press meet in Guwahati, state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the fresh positive cases was confirmed at the Barpeta Medical College and Hospital.
Sarma said that the patient is under treatment at the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati. The patient had travel history to Nizamuddin but was not part of the Tablighi Jamaat, Sarma added.
Besides, Sarma said that the positive COVID-19 patients from Assam are recovering and will be discharged very soon.
Out of the total 30 coronavirus positive patients in the state, one from Hailakandi died on April 10. Currently there are 29 active cases in Assam.
