Continuing its crackdown on illegal drugs trade, the Assam Police on Thursday seized 2.17 kg of heroin at Bokajan in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.
During the raid, police seized 150 packets of drugs that were concealed in a blanket.
Taking to Twitter Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed, “#AssamAgainstDrugs Pursuing an old case @karbianglongpol have busted an inter-state gang of smugglers, arrested 2 persons & seized 2 kg heroin. The total recovery in this case now is 4.848 kg heroin and this serves a major blow to the gang. Kudos @assampolice @DGPAssamPolice.”
According to police, the market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around Rs 6 crore in the market.
Meanwhile, Khotkhoti police have apprehended two persons identified as Rosy Rengmai and Angma Kame in connection with the case.
