Assam Police home guard found dead under mysterious circumstances

An Assam Police home guard personnel was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Santinagar locality in Assam’s Kokrajhar District on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Basudev Kisku, 36, a resident of Gurubhasha Ravanghat village in Chirang district. Kisku was posted at Bengtal police station in Chirang.

The incident is said to have occurred when the victim was returning home from the recently SP’s conference held in Bongaingaon on July 29.

Kisku’s body was found lying in a ditch by the roadside in Dablegaon of Amguri, thereby stirring a sensation in the entire area.

“Last night, I received information about Kisku’s death and then I informed the village president about incident. The exact cause of his death is currently unknown, and we are not permitted to see his body. Only after receiving the post-mortem report can we comment”, said a local.

“On July 29, he was sent from the outpost to Bongaigaon for the Chief Minister event. While returning home, this incident happened”, the local added.

He is survived by his wife and two children.

The district police reached the site and sent the body for post mortem.

Police have also launched an investigation.
