Assam Online Trading Scam: Bishal Phukan, Sumi Borah, Tarkik Borah, Others Remanded to Judicial Custody

These individuals face a total of 41 cases registered by the CBI, making this one of Assam's largest investment scam investigations.
In a significant development in the multi-crore Assam online trading scam, eight accused, including mastermind Bishal Phukan and his associate Sumi Borah, along with her husband Tarkik Borah, were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in Guwahati today. All were remanded to judicial custody and transferred to Guwahati Central Jail.
The CBI team brought the accused from Dibrugarh to Guwahati yesterday. The group also includes other key suspects, Tarkik Borah’s brother Amlan Borah, Phukan’s associates Chandan Nath and Shubhanjyoti Kurmi, as well as FX trading scam suspect Ranjit Kakoti and his associate Abhijit Chand. Together, these individuals face a total of 41 cases registered by the CBI, making this one of Assam’s largest investment scam investigations.
Meanwhile, CBI officials are intensifying the probe with raids underway at the Dibrugarh office associated with Bishal Phukan and Sumi Borah. The agency aims to uncover further evidence in the extensive online trading scam that has defrauded numerous investors across Assam.
