Assam-Mizoram border talks: CMs of both states set to meet in New Delhi

As per sources who exclusively spoke to Northeast Live, the meeting is set to take place in Assam House at 1 pm today.

The Chief Ministers of Assam and Mizoram are set to meet today in New Delhi. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Mizoram counterpart Zoramthanga will be meeting today.

As per sources who exclusively spoke to Northeast Live, the meeting is set to take place in Assam House at 1 pm today. The topic of today’s meeting is set to be the border dispute between the two states.

Meanwhile, as per sources, CM Zoramthanga will be accompanied by state planning board vice chairman H Rammawi, who is already in New Delhi.

The two Chief Ministers met in New Delhi last year in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah where they agreed to form panels consisting of their respective stakeholders to resolve the border dispute.

Meanwhile, the date for the next round of minister-level talks between Assam and Mizoram scheduled to be held in Guwahati is yet to be fixed.
