Assam: Heroin worth Rs 10 crore seized in Cachar, 2 held

Assam police have seized drugs worth Rs 10 crore and arrested two persons in connection with the case in Cachar district today.

The arrested drug peddler have been identified as–Lal Moni Laskar of Kachudaram and Imran Hussain of Sonai in Cachar district.

Based on an information, the Police conducted an operation at Lakhipur area in Cachar.

Police intercepted a car and after thoroughly checking the vehicle, police recovered the heroin hidden inside 55 soap boxes, said Cachar SP Numal Mahatta.

The substances that were seized weighed 1 kilogram, 98 grams.

Yesterday, Assam police have seized drugs worth Rs 7 crore in a raid at the Assam-Nagaland border in Karbi Anglong district and arrested one drug peddler identified as Shahid Hussain in connection with the case.

Police conducted a raid on a local ice factory at Lahorijan of Bokajan in Karbi Anglong district. During the raid, Police seized 1 kg 100 grams of drugs in 94 plastic boxes inside a coffin from the ice factory.
