Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday at the state legislative assembly stated that 11,000 teachers are going to be appointed ahead of the Bohag Bihu.
Speaking at the assembly Sarma said, ‘Within this month we aim to appoint around 11,000 teachers through TET in the LP schools. Though there are 2 cases pending in the High Court and if we win these two cases we can surely appoint the teachers in this month itself.’
The minister also said that the rules of teachers’ transfer would also be amended soon. Sarma said that all the vacant posts in Higher Secondary institutes in the state would be fulfilled.
The minister also announced that TET exams would be held for teachers of the Higher Secondary level as well.
Meanwhile, Sarma also announced that all the Madrassas and Sanskrit Tols in the state would be shut down within August 15.
