Assam: Girl shot dead in her sleep

The firing incident took place at around 1 am today in Arlong Langso village of Diphu.

A young girl was allegedly shot dead in her sleep by unidentified armed persons in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Tuesday.

The firing incident took place at around 1 am today in Arlong Langso village of Diphu.

The deceased girl, identified as Hukuri Tissopi, (23), was with her two sisters when the assailants shot her from close range before fleeing the scene.

As per inputs, the accused entered the house unnoticed through a hole that they had dug.
However, the motive behind the murder remains unclear.

Following the incident, local police rushed to the house, and an investigation is underway.
