Assam: Forest personnel accidentally shoots man while chasing rhino

It may be mentionmed here that the rhino, after straying out of Kaziranga National Park, had attacked a local, injuring him seriously.
In a tragic incident reported from Dergaon in Golaghat , a person was grievously injured by a bullet fired by the forest personnel while trying to chase away a rhinocerous .
According to sources, the incident occued when forest officials were trying to drive away the rhinocerous back to its habitat after it had strayed out of the Kaziranga National Park and wreaking havoc in the area.
Forest officials, who had reached the spot immediately after they were informed about the rhino, tried their best to chase away the animal back to its natural habitat.
When their every effort turned futile, the forest officials fired a bullet to scare the animal. Unfortunately the bullet hit a by stander, injuring him seriously.
It may be mentionmed here that the rhino, after straying out of Kaziranga National Park, had attacked a local, injuring him seriously.
