As Assam is reeling under devastating flood, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has come forward to help the flood affected people in the state. The actor has donated Rs 1 crore
As Assam is reeling under devastating flood, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has come forward to help the flood affected people in the state.
The actor has donated Rs 1 crore each to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and the Kaziranga National Park to help with the rescue and rehabilitation of flood victims.
The actor took to Twitter to express his concern and pledged Rs 2 crore towards flood relief. He tweeted, “Absolutely heartbreaking to know about the devastation by floods in Assam. All affected, humans or animals, deserve support in this hour of crisis. I’d like to donate 1cr each to the CM Relief Fund & for Kaziranga Park rescue. Appealing to all to contribute @CMOfficeAssam @kaziranga_”

On the other hand, Assam Brand Ambassador, Priyanka Chopra also took to twitter and requested her fans to contribute for the flood victims. She wrote, “Extremely devastated by all the news coming in from #Assam and other parts of India. It’s heartbreaking to read about the displacement and loss of life. My prayers with those affected.”

Meanwhile, ace sprinter Hima Das had on Tuesday, appealed individuals and corporate houses to help people of Assam affected by the devastating floods.
