Police have arrested five more people in connection with the brutal murder of a senior doctor in Teok Tea Estate near Jorhat.
While close to 21 people were detained on Sunday, 5 more were arrested during a late night raid yesterday taking the total to 26.
The five arrested during the late night raid have been identified as Bolin Rajowar, Misilal Manjhi, Batu Manjhi, Dodhi Kurmi and Buludeb Manjhi. So far the tally of the arrested persons stand at 26.

It is to be noted that Dr. Deben Dutta, a senior doctor was assaulted to death by an angry mob of tea garden employees on Saturday. The Tea garden workers stormed the hospital and brutally assaulted the doctor who was declared brought dead at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
Meanwhile, the family of the victim has demanded for the case to be tried in a fast track court for justice.
