The results for the Assam Assembly elections was announced on Sunday, May 2. The BJP has won with a clear majority in the state and has made a successful comeback

The results for the Assam Assembly elections was announced on Sunday, May 2. The BJP has won with a clear majority in the state and has made a successful comeback for the second consecutive term.

Assam has a 126-member assembly and 64 seats are needed for majority.

The counting of votes began at 8 AM on Sunday morning. Assam voted in three phases on March 27, April 1 and April 6.
