The doctor requested to the local MLA and panchayat representatives to repair the road many times, but didn’t get any positive response

Failing to get any response from the government after repeated requests, Dr Pulak Kuma Deka, sub-divisional health officer at the Nagarbera Block Primary Health Centre, was seen repairing and building about 300 metres of road leading to the hospital.
Deka picked up shovels to fix the dilapidated roads on his own.
As per inputs, the doctor requested the local MLA and panchayat representatives to repair the road many times, but didn’t get any positive response.
The health officer finally decided to take it upon himself. He spent money from his own pocket to fix the road. He was also supported by other hospital staff.
While speaking to media, Deka said, “The condition of the road was terrible and during the rains the situation get worse. It’s horrifying. We approached many representatives, but no one responded. Now, we filled the potholes, and the condition of the roads is much better”.
