Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday took stock of the health condition of Veteran Congress leader Tarun Gogoi.
CM Sonowal on Friday spoke to Gaurav Gogoi, MP from Koliabor and son of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for an update on the former Chief Minister’s health who is under treatment at the ICU in Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.
The 85-year-old leader’s condition has slightly improved since Thursday, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
The former chief minister tested positive for coronavirus on August 25 and was admitted to the ICU of GMCH following post-COVID-19 complications. He tested negative recently but remained in the hospital.
Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma along with a team of specialist doctors attending Gogoi at GMCH in Guwahati held a video-conference with Doctor Randeep Guleria, the Director of AIIMS to seek advise on the treatment protocol and future course for Tarun Gogoi.
There has been an overnight improvement in the health condition of Gogoi with his oxygen level rising to 94 this morning though he is still on artificial supply, Sarma said.
