Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal is leading in the Majuli. The vote counting for the Majuli seat began on Sunday morning at 8 am amid Covid protocols.
In the first round of counting, Sonowal is leading by 5,338 votes over Rajib Lochan Pegu of the Congress after the end of second round.
While the initial trends show Sonowal leading, the final results will be out in the evening. Majuli went to the polls on March 27.
Sonowal got 4,400 votes in the first round of counting.
