In a major initiative to promote entrepreneurship, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today distributed financial assistance to 25,064 budding entrepreneurs from various parts of the state. The programme, held in Khanapara, Guwahati, is a part of the government’s broader effort to support startup growth and economic development.
The state aims to provide further assistance, with total financial aid ranging from Rs.2 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh depending on the startup’s performance under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) scheme.
The initiative is being rolled out in phases. After an initial three-day training session, the second installment of Rs. 25,000 will be provided. The final installment of Rs. 1 lakh will be granted based on the progress and success of each entrepreneur’s venture.
This effort by the Assam government marks a significant step toward empowering young entrepreneurs and building a vibrant startup ecosystem in the state.
