Assam: Class 8 student slits classmate’s throat, victim critical

In a shocking incident, a Class-8 student allegedly slit the throat of his classmate following an argument between the two.

The incident took place on Thursday in Rongpur High School, Silchar in Assam.

The child was rushed to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) and his condition is said to be critical.

As per inputs, the two students, both in the 8th standard, got into an argument during school hours. During the altercation, one of the students picked up a sharp object and slit the other student’s throat.

The accused student was taken into custody by Silchar police and being questioned as per protocols.

Further investigation is underway.
